Davis Mechatronics is an engineering consultancy specializing in mechanical and robotics solutions. We partner with innovative companies to solve complex engineering challenges through custom design, ultra-rapid prototyping, and testing.
Customers we serve
What we do
From a napkin sketch to a tested prototype — across the full spectrum of robotics and mechatronics.
Ultra-rapid prototyping and technical problem-solving across the full robotics and mechatronics stack.
An in-house machine shop lets us fabricate custom parts on-site to accelerate development timelines.
We help teams integrate customized “AI Intern” systems that automatically generate pull requests for tagged issues.
Technical evaluation for investors assessing robotics and mechatronics startups.
In the field
How we engage
We tailor our proposals to your stage, needs, and risk tolerance.
We’ve supported multiple pre-seed startups — our customers have raised $4M+ in seed funding on the tech progress we delivered.
We get up to speed quickly and provide instant impact toward your goals, working alongside your existing engineers.
Large teams have competing priorities. Our agile team takes on auxiliary R&D so your core engineers keep their focus.
How we work
A tight loop from requirements to a tested, documented result.
We pin down the real problem and the constraints that matter before cutting metal.
Fast design cycles with tight feedback loops — prototype, learn, refine.
We validate on real hardware, not just in simulation or on paper.
Comprehensive docs so your team can own and extend the work.
Where we work
Domain context matters. We’ve shipped across these fields.
Depth
One team that spans every layer of the stack — so handoffs don’t cost you weeks.
Stereo, calibration, and deep-learning detection, segmentation, and tracking for robots in unstructured environments.
Motion, kinematics, and closed-loop control with BLDC, servo, and stepper drive design — tuned on real hardware.
Path planning, navigation, and autonomous behaviors for mobile robots and manipulators.
Firmware, real-time I/O, schematic capture, PCB design, and bring-up from the bare metal up.
Architecture, services, and integration that ties the whole system together.
CAD, DFM, and fixturing with 3D printing and in-house machining — from idea to tested hardware.
Hardware and system emulation to de-risk designs and validate software before the physical build exists.
Mechanical, electrical, and software brought together and validated on real hardware.
Where we build
A complete prototyping shop within arm’s reach of Silicon Valley — built to turn ideas into tested hardware in record time.

CNC milling, turning, router, bending

Welding, heat treating, plasma

SLA and FDM

Build & integration workstations

PCB assembly, wiring, harnesses

Indoor & outdoor, multiple off-the-shelf robots
Selected work
As a team — through multiple ventures — we’ve shipped robots in some of the toughest domains in Ag-Tech and clean energy.
Custom robots for strawberry and apple harvest — built around in-house motion control, computer vision, and AI/ML perception.
A waterless robotic cleaner that improves solar efficiency. We built and maintained a fleet of 100+ machines across four countries.
Who we are
Our founding team previously led engineering at two robotics startups: Advanced Farm, building robotic harvesting systems, and Greenbotics, building robotic solar-panel cleaners — acquired by SunPower in 2013.
That experience shapes how we work: pragmatic, fast, and grounded in shipping real hardware. When you bring us a problem, you’re working with people who’ve taken robots from prototype to production.
